alumnilaosOn November 11th, after the annual assembly of the Lao-German Friendship Association (LGFA) which was established in the beginning of 2008, the first Alumni meeting was conducted in Vientiane. More than 120 participants attended this event organized by InWEnt in cooperation with DAAD.The German Ambassador to Laos, Dr. Peter Wienand, emphasized in his welcome-speech the great potentials of the cooperation with Alumni from Laos.
Special attention should be given to 2.500 people from Laos who have studied or took part in a training programme in the former German Democratic Republic (DDR) and, in the meantime, have important positions in the Lao government.

Peter and Sabine Nagel, directors of InWEnt Regional Office Hanoi, informed the participants about the Alumni programme of InWEnt and introduced the new Alumni-Portal Germany. The meeting closed with a get-together of 200 guests with barbeque, music and traditional dance in the German House in Vientiane and can be considered as a new start for the cooperation with Alumni from Laos.

Since the establishment of the Office in Hanoi in 2004, InWEnt has offered regularly training measures also to Alumni in Laos, which include especially interdisciplinary subjects like Leadership, Negotiation Skills or Management for SME.
