In the framework of "Cambodian Khmer Rouge Tribunal Fellowship Programme", 21 participants who come from various professional background (e.g. psychologists, lawyers, journalists, human rights activist etc.), and are currently working in the field of reconciliation and dealing with the past, participated in the study tour which was taking place from 13 to 29 May 2011 to Germany and the Hague. The group visited courts, prisons, a former concentration camp, memorials, documentation centres and treatment centres for traumatized persons.

The objective of the study tour was to give an overview about the functioning of an international community justice which Cambodia is also a part of and to learn and exchange Germany's experiences of dealing with its own difficult past. In this regard, Cambodian participants were able to broaden their understanding, and perspective of their own history.
