Jointly organised by InWEnt and the Central Institute of Economic Development (CIEM) in Hanoi on 23. Nov, the workshop on planning the new InWEnt's programme "National Steering of Regional Economic Management (RED STEER)" has gathered together 20 delegates representing central management institutions and economic regions, as well as relating German organisations.
With the main objective of supporting institutions in the formulation, steering and implementation of a Regional Economic Development Policy, the programme is planned for four years, from 2009 to 2012. Yearly training cycle with training components in Germany and in the partner countries of Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines comprising of seminars, workshops and dialogue forums will be subsequently conducted.
Inputs from the participants are valuable for building the new programme, its structure, sequence, format and time-planning as well as making the programme's activities more relevant to the local needs. Following the national workshops in Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines, an international conference on RED STEER will be held on 16. Nov. 2009 in Hanoi.
