As contribution to the German Development Cooperation programme "Strengthening Provincial Health Systems" in Vietnam, the InWEnt course on District Health Management is currently being conducted in Hanoi in partnership with the Hanoi School of Public Health.

The four-week course has started on October 5th, 2009, and follows a pilot-course which was implemented for the provinces supported by the German Development Cooperation (Yen Bai, Phu Yen, Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh, and Nghe An provinces) last year. After the pilot run, the curriculum, content and training material has been revised and adapted resulting in a tailor-made training for the Vietnamese health context.

The participants of the course consist of provincial and district health administrators, senior and middle managers of provincial district health centres and hospitals.

Trainers of the Hanoi School of Public Health, partly joined by international experts, are working with the participants on topics of the following areas: human resource management, epidemiology, health management and administration as well as financial management.
