Support diplomat academies and institutes for capacity building in international diplomacy
Overview: For an increasing number of global problems, effective solutions are only possible through close international cooperation. Today, more than ever before, a high degree of cooperation and negotiation capacity is required, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of international processes of opinion-shaping and decision-making, in order to ensure equitable participation in the international political dialogue. The Foreign Services of numerous developing and threshold countries are not yet sufficiently prepared to take on the tasks of bi- and multi-lateral development diplomacy in a professional way. Challenges lie both in the area of development cooperation in the narrower sense, and in all relevant areas of the relationship of these countries with other countries (for instance, foreign trade cooperation, crisis prevention, conflict management, security cooperation and environmental diplomacy).

Target Group: Staff members of foreign ministries and other departments responsible for cooperation with Germany
