HIV/AIDS Prevention
Get to know internationally recognized tools and procedures to limit the further spread of the HIV/AIDS virus through an online course

Overview:

In Vietnam, the HIV/AIDS epidemic continues to spread at an alarming rate. In some regions, and among affected population groups, HIV/AIDS is already one of the most frequent causes of death in the 15 and 45 years old age group. The Government is aware of the HIV/AIDS problem and has already passed strategies and action plans. However, the implementation of specific action, especially at the provincial level and below, is still in its early stages. There is therefore considerable room for improvement in all essential areas, such as blood transfusion technology, health education, and the promotion of behaviour-relevant measures in the vulnerable population groups, and in the improvement of prevention and treatment.
In the 20 years since AIDS first appeared, medical research has developed a comprehensive pool of knowledge and set of tools. These can be used to limit the further spread of the virus; they open up possibilities for new treatments, ensure the care and support of HIV/AIDS patients and their environment, and thus significantly help to control the effects of the pandemic. In modular four-month online courses conducted in Vietnamese and supervised by tutors, and a one-week seminar with compulsory attendance to complete the course, the participants get to know these internationally recognized tools and procedures.
